Jim Powell, in a Science Digest, March 1978 article titled "Our Mightiest germ Fighter" reported: "Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of modern medicine. Resistant strains fail to develop. Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic. He also comments in this same article that an antibiotic kills perhaps 7 different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650. The article ended with a quote by Dr. Harry Margraf of St. Louis, a biochemist and pioneering silver researcher, who concluded "Silver is the best all-around germ fighter we have."
In the bestseller, "The Body Electric," Dr. Robert Becker observed a correlation between low silver levels and sickness. He said the silver deficiency was responsible for the improper functioning of the immune system. Dr. Becker's experiments conclude that silver works on the full spectrum of pathogens without any side effects or damage to any part of the body. He also states that the silver was doing something more than killing disease organisms. It was also causing major growth stimulation of injured tissues. Burn patients and elderly patients noticed more rapid healing. He discovered that all cancer cells change back to normal cells. All strains of pathogens resistant to other antibiotics are killed by colloidal silver.
If this information is correct, and there is much evidence to support that it is, then my question is: Why has the medical profession abandoned the use of colloidal silver? Why is the public not generallly aware that Silver has been used in medical science for over 100 years and that there are numerous scientific essays and abstracts about astonishing findings that support present day research that Silver is one of the most powerful and non-toxic germ-fighters we have ever had.
I am concerned that the reason has much to do with the Pharmaceutical industry. Colloidal silver is considered to be user-friendly, safe and effective and thereby poses a threat to the drug company profits. Imagine the reduction in the use of antibiotics that could result if everyone used colloidal silver as a first-line-of-defense against infection. And that would only be the tip of the iceberg. Colloidal silver has been given a low and negative profile in the media because it exposes the motives of the Pharmaceutical companies who would rather promote expensive and potentially toxic medications. In the past years, the development of new antibiotics has given way to the production of more lucrative drugs for treatment of heart disease, high blood pressure and obesity. And as reported in the Medical News Today article a drug has been found which may help to stop anti-resistant bacteria.
